With the incredible support of our member companies, the UALink Consortium achieved significant milestones and experienced remarkable growth throughout 2025. From delivering the first UALink specifications to demonstrating real-world technology readiness at global industry events, this year strengthened the foundation for an open, AI scale-up interconnect that will power the next generation of AI infrastructure. As we look ahead to 2026, here’s a closer look at the accomplishments that shaped the UALink ecosystem in 2025.
- Published the UALink 200G & 128G 1.0 Specifications. In 2025, we delivered the industry’s first UALink specifications. These open standards define a low-latency, high-bandwidth scale-up interconnect purpose-built for communication between accelerators and switches in AI computing pods. By enabling scalable, multi-vendor, next-generation AI topologies, the specifications mark a major milestone in establishing a standardized foundation for future accelerator clusters. Download the specification and explore the accompanying white paper to gain a deeper technical understanding of how UALink is shaping the future of AI infrastructure.
- UALink 200G 1.0 Specification Wins FMS Most Innovative Technology Award. The UALink 200G 1.0 Specification was honored with the Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) Most Innovative Technology award, reflecting broad industry support and reinforcing the importance of open interconnect standards in meeting the bandwidth and scaling requirements of modern AI workloads.
- Demonstrated UALink Technology Live at Supercomputing 2025 (SC25). At SC25, UALink Consortium Board member Synopsys showcased a live UALink demonstration, giving attendees a firsthand look at UALink technology. The demo highlighted the company’s UALink 200G IP operating over 2m+ of passive copper direct-attach cables, achieving long-reach electrical performance essential for next-generation AI cluster connectivity. For a full breakdown of the demonstration and its impact, read our SC25 recap blog.
- Strengthened UALink Understanding through Industry Event Participation. Throughout the year, UALink Consortium representatives participated in and supported a wide range of global events, including OCP APAC Summit, FMS, Hot Interconnects, AI Infra Summit, OCP Global Summit, ODCC Plenary Meetings, and SC25. Across presentations, panels and booth engagements with attendees, the Consortium continued to raise awareness of UALink’s technical direction and value for the AI infrastructure community.
- Powering a True Multi-Vendor Ecosystem: UALink Tops 115 Members. One of the most exciting achievements of 2025 was the rapid expansion of our membership. Surpassing 115 member companies, the UALink Consortium is supported by a diverse ecosystem of industry leaders, including hyperscalers, semiconductor manufacturers, system integrators, IP providers and research organizations, all united in driving an open, scalable accelerator interconnect forward.
- From Specification to Product. The ultimate measure of an open standard is the strength of the ecosystem it enables. UALink members are turning the specification into reality, with IP vendors delivering IP and VIP, switch suppliers developing silicon and system solutions, accelerator vendors designing UALink-enabled xPUs, and test and measurement companies preparing tools for validation, debug, and compliance. Together, these efforts set the stage for 2026 to be a pivotal year, making now the ideal time to get involved with the UALink Consortium and follow our progress.
