Birds of a Feather

UALink will participate in a joint Birds of a Feather session with the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC). View the presentation details below:

  • Title: UALink and Ultra Ethernet: Addressing AI Networking Challenges in an Open Ecosystem
  • Presenters: Kurtis Bowman (AMD) and Professor Torsten Hoeffler (ETH Zürich)
  • Date and time: Wednesday, 19 November 2025, 12:15pm – 1:15pm CST
  • Location: Room 276
  • Abstract: Traditional interconnects no longer meet the performance, latency, and scalability demands of AI systems, prompting the need for new approaches to data movement at the node and data center levels. In response, two new open industry organizations have emerged: UALink and the Ultra Ethernet Consortium. This BoF will discuss the two organizations’ approaches to meeting the growing network demands for AI applications. This presentation will also explore the architectural challenges driving the need for these new fabrics and explain how UALink and UEC are addressing AI networking challenges.
